Record information about participants who might have COVID-19 symptoms in HMIS
Use LDH’s guide to testing sites across Louisiana to connect participants to screening and treatment
Apply for regulatory requirement waivers for CoC Program, ESG, or HOPWA projects
Consider providing case management by phone/video chat when possible
All CoC Program Recipients
If you are unable to complete and submit your APR within the 90-day window after your grant expires, you can email an extension request to Marlet Becnel at the HUD Field Office. The email request “should be really simple and straightforward, identifying the additional time being requested as well as a very brief statement of justification.”
As a side note: “when APRs are submitted in SAGE, grant recipients should use the comment section of the APR to note that the APR was not submitted timely because staff was responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Emergency Shelters (and other congregate facilities)
Use the COVID-19 Participant Screening Tool to identify participants who should be connected to a local medical provider for screening and treatment
Coordinated Entry
For Coordinated Entry intake: once you’ve met the minimum contact requirements in the Coordinated Entry Policies and Procedures, consider adopting a project policy that prioritizes continued follow-up with participants who can be reached by phone/email/video chat

HUD makes $45.6 of COVID-19 relief funding available to LA (WAFB) — this includes more than $20 million in Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funding, the majority of which will be administered by the Louisiana Housing Corporation
* NOTE: the COVID-19 Statewide Homelessness Dashboard is hosted by the LA BOSCOC, not a product of the LA BOSCOC; it was created by Capital Area Alliance for the Homelessness in partnership with CoC leads and HMIS administrators across Louisiana
